A step-by-step guide to South-South learning exchanges

This guide focuses on interactive learning exchanges with stakeholder teams exchanging knowledge and experience to help one or both of the teams work towards change. It includes a strong focus on monitoring and evaluation (M&E). In doing so, the goals are to prospectively ensure that the efforts (time and resources) made for the learning exchange will be worthwhile and to retrospectively assess if the South-South exchange has had the intended effect. This document has been developed to support the implementation of evidence-based family planning. This has been used in countries implementing the WHO’s Family Planning Accelerator Project, and many of the examples included here reflect the evidence-based guidelines and practices supported by WHO. This should be considered a living document that will be updated based on the experience of using this guide.
