We propose a scheme for pattern-free wavelength-conversion of PAM-signals in SOAs. By exploiting co-propagation of two complementary PAM signals in a saturated-SOA, the proposed scheme, in simulations, achieves 5-dB OSNR improvement with respect of XGM.
