This paper presents a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) for networks on chip (NoC) with a bus topology and demonstrates the feasibility of simultaneous counter-propagating optical transmissions at the same wavelength. Bit error rate measurements indicate that bus is able to support bidirectional transmissions with a penalty below 1.5 dB for a BER of 10-9.

Abstract
